"My Friend Sam and I spent nearly a month in Nepal with Jiba Sherpa as our guide. I had never been to Nepal before, nor did I have much trekking experience, so I really didn't know what to expect.  Under Jiba’s guidance and expertise we explored the sites of Kathmandu, trekked in the Khumbu Valley, climbed two peaks, and finished with a stopover in Jiba’s Beautiful home town of Jiri.

The trip was fantastic. We had the freedom to do what we wished and travelled at our own pace, while Jiba made sure he was always there to help us achieve exactly what we wanted. Most importantly, he also made sure it was always fun! This appeared to be a stark contrast to larger more commercial trekking groups, where people were always under the instruction and control of their tour leader, who was forced to try and please a large group of varying interests.

Throughout our adventure, we would always retire each night to a quiet, affordable, and clean lodge with fantastic food which Jiba would arrange on our behalf. This all took a huge weight off our mind. Best of all was the extra effort Jiba took to introduce us to the local people and their culture, language, cuisine, and alcohol!

I left the trip feeling as though I had really embraced the positive outlook of the Nepalese people. It was honestly one of the best experiences of my life, and Jiba played a huge part in making that happen.

I write this review for my now good friend Jiba Sherpa, and in hope that this message will allow others to enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity like this.

Cheers,

Matt Hansen"

"I would like to start by saying it is a pleasure to be able to write a review for my good mate Jiba, who is someone who five and a half years later is not only the first person I call when planning my next trek to Nepal but a very good friend.

I first met Jiba in a guesthouse in Jiri (starting point for Everest Base Camp on foot) with a friend from The Netherlands who I was planning to trek with. Jiba, always friendly and approachable was happy to talk to us about possible routes to E.B.C which (before meeting Jiba) we had planned to do solo. Within an hour we had not only made a friend but had arranged to trek to E.B.C and also trek the Kongma La (5,535m), the Cho La (5,380m) and the Renjo La (5,388m) passes over a 25-30 day period.

The next 30 days following our chance meeting with Jiba I can honestly say have been some of the best of my life. Despite the beautiful scenery that is expected in the Solu-Khumbu region, having a guide that is as professional, friendly, organised and as fun as Jiba made the experience what it was. From the outset of our trek, Jiba introduced us to one of his trekking philosophies “slow drive. long life”, a philosophy that is suitable for trekkers at all ages and fitness levels. Trekking in the Himalaya is not a race and each person has their own pace which makes trekking with Jiba such an enjoyable experience as he is always by your side making sure you are comfortable, happy, enjoying your time, and have a full belly (of dhal bhat if you chose).

Throughout the 30 days of our trek in the Everest region to E.B.C and over the high passes we shared many laughs with Jiba and were constantly impressed by his knowledge of the region and the professionalism with which he guides.

In fact, after 30 days with him we decided it wasn’t enough and decided to spend an extra two weeks trekking with Jiba in the Makalu-Baron national park region with the goal of climbing Mera Peak (6,476m). Within a day of arriving back in Namche Bazaar, officially ending our time in the Everest region, Jiba had arranged the the next leg of our trip, including a climbing Sherpa and all the gear we would need as well as permits. This is a credit to Jiba’s professional approach to his work and his ability to meet clients requirements and need efficiently.

It goes without saying the next two weeks of trekking and climbing were equally as brilliant as the first four. Since my first trek with Jiba I have been trekking with him again, and have recommended him to friends and family who have had experiences no less special then my own.

I could not recommend Jiba any higher for a trek in Nepal."

"Last year I spent 3 weeks trekking with Jiba in the Everest region, from Jiri to base camp via the Rango La and Cho La passes. It was probably the most memorable 3 weeks I have ever had. I was very lucky to have met Jiba through a friend from home in Australia and he kindly took me on my own private trip. His knowledge of the area makes the already incredible experience even more amazing as he points out the land marks of where you have come from, where you are heading and other peaks/walks that make you want to come back again and again.

Jiba is a very thoughtful, kind and knowledgable guide and friend. I will always be grateful for the time he spent showing me his beautiful country and I can't wait to come back and see more of it with him"
