           Physical training:

What you should know before having a trek in Nepal

Do you have a good physical condition/capacity to go for a trekking in the mountain? Do not worry; everybody is able to walk, and a normal physical condition is enough to be able to walk during 6 hours per day. Technical difficulties only appear when you are climbing summits over 4000 meters.

Nevertheless, a little preparation is recommended as a precaution for high altitudes.  If you are not used to practice sport, you may have some short trekking (of few hours) before going to Nepal, in order to have an idea of your current shape. Learn to listen to yourself and find your own rhythm: take your time, the right one should not exhaust you.

If you are over 45 years old, we recommend you to have a medical visit before going to Nepal, in order to check your physical condition.

           Walk in high altitude

Walking in countryside does not require the same physical effort as in high altitude. That’s why you should take into account the altitude in which you will have your trek. Because even if some treks such as Annapurnas, Tamang Heritage Trail, and valley of Katmandou are said easy trek, there are important differences in height or level, some difficult saddles…

Over 3000 meters of altitude, the organism makes an effort to acclimatize to a reduced quantity of oxygen.

Therefore, we advise you to take into account these two factors to choose the best adapted trek to you.
